Noah Kearns is the star player on the Alva boys’ soccer team, where he’s started all four years for the Goldbugs squad. Kearns primarily plays at the right-wing position but can play all over the field wherever the senior is needed most.

“I do a little bit of everything,” Kearns said. “I set up my teammates but can also be the one to go score as well depending on the situation.”

Outside of athletics, Kearns is involved in Spanish club, science club, FCA, and key club. Upon graduation, Kearns will continue his soccer career at Barclay College in Haviland, Kansas. Once Kearns sets foot on campus to begin his college career, he will be the fourth generation to attend Barclay College. Kearns has made trips to Barclay College numerous times since he was a baby. Before making his official campus visit, Kearns would travel to watch his older brother, David, play on the Barclay College soccer squad. Kearns mom, Shelda, and sister, Bethany, also attended Barclay College, while his dad, Darin, also played soccer at Barclay College.

Kearns credits his brother for his success on and off the soccer field.

“My big brother has been my biggest mentor,” Kearns said. “He would just take the time for me throughout his busy schedule and just showed me the type of person I’m supposed to be. He would practice soccer with me one-on-one and taught me a lot about the game.”

While at Barclay College, Kearns plans on studying to become a church pastor or youth pastor. Kearns dad is a pastor and was Kearns youth pastor growing up. Kearns has led community worship services in the past and plays guitar or sings in the church band. In his free time, Kearns plays guitar and drums and enjoys spending time with his family.
