Integris HENNESSEY250x250

The Hennessey Character Counts honor goes to softball player Chloe Moery. In her sophomore season Moery is a utility outfielder for the Lady Eagles and says she’s improved this year.

“I feel like I’ve gotten a lot better,” said Moery, “my hitting has been a lot better, I’ve become more confident as my playing time has gone up this season.”

As a sophomore, Moery has also taken on a leadership role for a Hennessey team that doesn’t have the deepest roster.

“I feel like a leader has to have a good attitude with everyone even when things aren’t going well and I feel like I do a good job and I just try my best to be encouraging to my teammates,” said Moery.

Having a limited roster has forced Hennessey to do some different things, but Moery thinks those changes could make the team stronger next year.

“We’ve had to have a lot of position changes and I think everyone is dealing with them pretty well,” said Moery, “I think next year we’ll have a deeper roster so I think we’ll continue to get better next season.”

Besides softball Moery is a three year member of the cheer squad and the basketball team. She’s a standout in the classroom with a 4.0 GPA and is involved in both student council and choir.

“I’ve always been told that character is what you do when someone isn’t watching and I feel like having good character is just having a good attitude and being able to get stuff done despite any changes or inconveniences,” said Moery.
